Christopher Plummer won a and the Golden Globe for the role of father's gay


The corresponding on-screen son, Ewan McGregor, who plays a father who left after the death of his wife.

Plummer is often remembered for his role as Captain von Trapp, head of the family Von Trapp in the 1965 musical The Sound of Music, who plays a widower, a little more conservative.
