As political commentators are quick to determine the winner of the debate tonight Republican presidential candidates, viewers of Tampa Bay have their own opinions.
"For me, it seems that a little bit of a draw," said Josh Burgin, treasurer of the Republican Party in Hillsborough County. Newt Gingrich after the victory in the state of South Carolina primary, "Romney is trying to get there, this is definitely in full attack."
He said he had no choice for Burgin clear winner of the debate this evening, held on the campus of the University of South Florida.
"I will be in sync again ... it is by no means a done deal."
The Club Central Pasco Republican Vice President Sandy Graves favorite going into the debate this evening - and his mind has not changed from what was said.
"It remains a supporter of Romney," he wrote in an email after the debate. "Romney is the only one with experience in private business ... more than the rest together."
Gingrich experience serious and enduring questions of the problems as well.
"Newt has always worked for the government, as a teacher and later a member of Congress," he wrote. "Do not go to the home of Georgia after he was ousted by his party, but remained in Virginia as pressure groups and fought in some cases, the lack of conservation issues such as global warming with Nancy Pelosi. His association with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae is a problem as well."
Ron Paul had his share of supporters on the campus of the University of South Florida.
"I think Ron Paul was adamant," said Chris Haag, Maryland. "That's what I'm here to support."
He expressed disappointment USF student Brandon Ladia the amount of air time given to Paul.
"I would have liked more than Ron Paul," said Ladia. "He did not give screen time enough."
Ladia says he supports Paul's book, "like the pro-constitution."
Norman Wesley Chapel Scheffer remains steadfast in its support of Paul.
"I still believe in Ron Paul," he said. "He is the most sensitive."
Not Largo resident Ed Brabant did not say any of the candidates to stand, but he has some opinions to share.
"There was not a lot of material to the questions, why do not we talk about the real problems?"
The Thonotosassa Caroline Hankins alternative for the performance of the corresponding bit Romney.
"I do not like the way they seem to Romney went on the offensive," he said. "Why do not promote what he would do instead of putting people down? ... Gingrich brings me back to the old days (Ronald) Raegan".
